Panarea Pizza was born from a simple obsession: recreating that “takeaway taste” at home, without the bland jars or overly processed shortcuts. We wanted a sauce that hits like your best local pizzeria, but still feels good to use in your own kitchen.

How it started

We’re a small UK brand built by big pizza people. After countless homemade pizza nights, we realised the biggest gap wasn’t the dough or the cheese, it was the base. So we created our first sauce: Smoky BBQ Pizza Sauce, a rich, sweet-smoky, tomato-led sauce designed specifically for pizza.


Panarea is named after a beautiful Italian island and it reflects what we’re about: bold, nostalgic flavour made for modern pizza nights at home. We take the tastes people already love and craft them into sauces that feel special, and seriously easy to use.

What makes it a “pizza sauce” rather than a normal BBQ sauce?

A bold, pizza-ready balance. It’s built to work with cheese, heat, and toppings, so it bakes into the base instead of drying out.

Is this only for pizza?

Not at all. We made it for pizza first, but it’s brilliant anywhere you want an authentically smoky hit. Try it as a dipping sauce, in wraps and sandwiches, brushed on chicken or halloumi, on your burgers or stirred into pasta for a quick BBQ twist.
